 United Methodist Women Purpose:

United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to

(1)             Know God and to Experience Freedom as Whole Persons through Jesus Christ;

(2)             To Develop a Creative, Supportive Fellowship; and

(3)             To Expand Concepts of Mission through Participation in the Global Ministries of the Church.

The United Methodist Women (UMW) of Manor Memorial United Methodist Church is a vital community of women within the life of our church.  All women are invited to join with us to fulfill our Purpose in the Kingdom of God.

Our programs concern Spiritual Growth; Membership, Nurture and Outreach; and Social Action, as well as other areas that may be determined by the Executive Committee , and are generally presented by the Mission Coordinators and/or Guest Speakers in these various categories.  Many opportunities for mission outreach and financial support, spiritual growth, social justice, educational ministry topics, book club and fellowship are available. There are several standing committees that work throughout the year to support various missions and ministries within our church, in our community, within the Harrisonburg, Virginia District, the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church and global missions.

We support various other ministries within our church that already exist or will be developed. Recently, we have sought opportunities to work alongside our children, youth, and young adults of all ages in ministry to grow and enrich inter-generational relationships in our church family.
